Repairs on the extensive damaged caused by the blaze between Struisbaai and Bredasdorp are still in progress. No ETR is available as yet, in addition to potential flare ups and unforeseen circumstances that may arise.

Octotel wishes to inform its valued clients in the Struisbaai area about the ongoing disruption to fibre services caused by a fire between Bredasdorp and Struisbaai , The fire has severely damaged the fibre infrastructure of our third-party service provider. Their teams are currently on-site working diligently to repair the damage. Unfortunately, we do not yet have an estimated time for service restoration due to the severity of the damage . More updates to follow.

We continue to work closely with our partner providers and local authorities to restore fibre connectivity to the residents of Struisbaai as soon as possible.

Our partner provider has confirmed that the Technical team is currently en route to repair the backhaul damaged by yesterday's wildfire. The ETA to the site is 10:00. No ETR is available due to the risk of the fire flaring up, putting our teams' safety in jeopardy.

Octotel technical team is currently en route to repair the backhaul damaged by yesterday's wildfire. Once the technical team has been onsite and evaluated the damage, ETR for resolution will be supplied.

After further investigations, technicians have established the backhaul is damaged due to the ongoing fire in the area. Technicians are to be dispatched in the morning to assess the extent of the damage.
