Octotel is currently experiencing the following issue:

Affected Area/s: Gugulethu  

Impact: Customers may experience no connectivity. 

 

Octotel technicians are currently investigating. There is no ETR at the moment.

Octotel confirmed that this outage was resolved on 27/05/2025 @12:43. Please restart your devices and contact our Support Team should you still experience connection issues.

Octotel engineers are still in progress with the fibre resplicing to restore connectivity to those affected customers. Certain customer connections have been restored.

ETR for complete restoration: +-3Hours

Octotel engineers have commenced with the fibre resplicing to restore connectivity to those affected customers.

 

Update (26/05/2025 @ 18:57):

Due to safety concerns in the area, our Community Liaison Officer (CLO) has made the decision to postpone the fibre repair work. The repairs are now scheduled to resume tomorrow morning at 8:30 AM.

 

Update (26/05/2025 @ 17:52):

Octotel Engineers have located the point of the break and have commenced with the fibre repairs to restore connectivity to the affected customers. ETR for complete restoration +-5 Hours.

 

Update (26/05/2025 @ 16:28):

Octotel's engineers are currently on-site, assessing the damage across our fibre infrastructure. Once all the damage is pinpointed, We'll provide an ETR for the full restoration process.. More updates to follow.
