 Octotel confirmed that this outage was resolved on 27/01/2026 @ 07:52. Please restart your devices and contact our Support Team should you still experience connection issues. 

 

Update (26/01/2026 @19:14):

Octotel engineers implemented a temporary fix , however due to extensive damage to their infrastructure in multiple locations, they will be conducting emergency remedial maintenance. This work will impact connectivity for some of our customers connected to the George Node.

Octotel engineers are still in progress with the fibre resplicing to restore connectivity to those affected customers. Certain customer connections have been restored.

Octotel engineers are still in progress with the fibre resplicing to restore connectivity to those affected customers. Certain customer connections have been restored.

ETR for complete restoration: ±2 hours

 

Update (26/01/2026 @12:36):

Octotel engineers have commenced with the fibre resplicing to restore connectivity to those affected customers.

ETR for complete restoration: ±3hrs

 

Update (26/01/2026 @11:46):

Octotel's engineers are currently on-site, assessing the damage across our fibre infrastructure. Once all the damage is pinpointed, they'll provide an estimated ETR for the full restoration process.
