Contractors have replaced 2000m of cable to effect repairs. Splicing is in progress. 5 out of 6 high impact systems confirmed clear thus far. Next Update 09:00.

There is still no communication with the service provider, and the systems remain down. NOC Transport analysis is monitoring for any alarm changes on the affected systems. The next update is scheduled for 06:00.

Duty manager instructed the cable tech to proceed to the site and gather intelligence on the fault's progress, as there is currently no communication with the service provider.

A tree fell on the cable inside a timber plantation 26.7km from Thohoyandou on 2025-08-13 at 10:18. No communication with the service provider due to network coverage issues. Efforts to establish contact are ongoing.

The Service Provider arrived at the break site and is preparing to erect the cable. Due to the extensive amount of cable to be replaced and poles to be planted, delays are expected. Update to follow at 22:30.

A tree fell on the cable inside a timber plantation 26.7km from Thohoyandou.A service provider is dispacthed and on route to collect the cable and the 3 poles,
ETA at the break site is 19H30.

Cable staff located the damage which was caused by a fallen tree inside a timber plantation.
The extent of the damage is being assessed before repair options are devised as multiple poles may be required for replacement. Update to follow at 16:30.
