FMAS Network is currently experiencing the following issue:
Start Date & Time: 27/10/2026 @12:43
Affected Area/s: Phumula
Impact: Customers may experience no connectivity.
FMAS Network technicians are currently investigating. There is no ETR at the moment.
Update (28/10/2026 @ 12;00):
FMAS confirmed that the roadworks team is currently installing a tar road on Ndiphe Street, Phumula.
Unfortunately, due to the original placement of the BB boxes within the sand road, rather than closer to the Walls where the houses are situated, the infrastructure is now being damaged during the tar road installation,
The BB boxes and distribution cables are being damaged as the contractors proceed with the roadworks, affecting connectivity across the entire street.
They will not be able to attend to these faults while the contractors are still busy with the installation.
At this stage, they are unsure which streets will be affected next. However, depending on the extent of the damage, the affected infrastructure along the street will need to be rebuilt to restore connectivity to the impacted clients.
Update (27/10/2026 @12:43):
Please note that all Phumula tickets will be placed on hold for today, as FMAS technicians were robbed of their equipment. They will provide further updates once more information is available.
