OpenFibre is currently experiencing the following issue:  

 

Start Date & Time: 19/09/2025 @ 08:04 

Affected Area:  Linton's Corner Mall

Impact: Customers may experience no connectivity. 

 

OpenFibre technicians are currently investigating. There is no ETR at the moment.

 

Update (20/09/2025 @ 13:18):

This is to advise that our upstream provider's technicians have completed their on-site testing.

The investigation has confirmed a disconnection on both fibre strands. The fault is located approximately 63 meters from their testing point.

We are now working with the provider on a repair plan. Further updates will be provided as they become available.

 

Update (20/09/2025 @ 12:24):

This is to advise that our engineer is now on site. The initial investigation has been completed and has determined that the Optical Line Terminal (OLT) is in a hard-down state.

Our team is currently arranging a conference call between the on-site engineer and our backhaul provider to resolve this issue. We will provide a further update as soon as the time for this call has been confirmed.

 

Update (20/09/2025 @ 10:35):

Please be advised that the scheduled maintenance has been completed successfully. However, the site remains offline due to a suspected lock on the Optical Line Terminal (OLT) equipment. In response, a field engineer has been dispatched to the site and is currently en route. The estimated time of arrival (ETA) is 11:20

 

Update (20/09/2025 @ 09:25):

Please be advised that the scheduled maintenance has been completed successfully. However, the site remains offline due to a suspected lock on the Optical Line Terminal (OLT) equipment. A field engineer has been dispatched to the site and is currently en route. The estimated time of arrival (ETA) is 10:30 this morning 

 

Update (20/09/2025 @ 07:48):

Please be advised that our technical team remains on-site and is actively performing repairs on the fiber optic cable. We will provide a further update upon completion of the work

No ETR is available at the current moment, and we will be sure to advise once received.

 Kindly note that Technicians are currently testing the remaining non-functional links individually.

At this stage, we are still awaiting a revised Estimated Time of Restoration from the upstream provider. Their maintenance teams are continuing work on the issue, and while progress has been made, no definitive timeline has been communicated to us as yet.

 

Update 19/09/2025 @ 12:24  

Please be advised that the upstream provider has informed us that the Estimated Time of Restoration has been extended, as their maintenance teams are still in the process of completing the necessary repairs.
