Update (15/09/2026 @ 09:37):

The upstream service provider has confirmed that the field team successfully secured additional cable slack from one side of the affected route. During on-site investigations, technicians identified that the fibre cable and duct infrastructure were damaged due to a bush-covered area where the cable had been cut.

The provider's field team is currently working to secure sufficient cable slack from the opposite direction to enable the repair and restoration activities to proceed.

The incident has been escalated to the upstream provider's management team, and we remain in continuous engagement with them to obtain a confirmed estimated time of restoration (ETR).

Update (15/09/2026 @ 08:12):

According to the latest update from the service provider, a suspected point of failure has been identified.

The affected cable is located adjacent to a river and the field team is currently assessing the site and arranging safe access to proceed with the necessary repair activities. The provider is currently evaluating the most appropriate restoration approach and coordinating the required remediation works.

We remain in close communication with the service provider and the issue has been escalated to obtain a tentative ETR.

We will continue to closely monitor the situation and provide further updates as soon as additional information becomes available.
