Please note: this guide is for the Archer C5 hardware version 4 router.

*We recommend that you do the following with a cable plugged in from one of the LAN ports of the router to your computer to prevent you from being immideately disconnected after changing the wireless settings.

  1. Open your web browser and navigate to 192.168.0.1 or http://tplinkwifi.net/

  2. You will be greeted by the page below:

  3. Enter the following and Log In:

    Username: admin
    Password: admin or coolideas1

  4. The following status page will appear once you have logged in (If it's the first time configuring the router, you'll be taken to the wizard, just click Exit.)
  5. Click on the Advanced tab at the top of the page.

  6. Navigate to Wireless > Wireless Settings on the left-hand menu

  7. Make sure 2.4GHz is selected at the top right.
  8. Please then select the Channel drop-down list (which should be set to Auto) and select a channel that is unoccupied in your area.
    - It's best (on 2.4GHz wireless) to start testing with one of the following channels: 1, 6 or 11
    - If/when possible set your wireless channel to 2 channels away form the nearest occupied wireless channel.

  9. Once done, please click on the Save button and the new wireless channel settings will then be applied.
  10. To change the channel on your 5GHz wireless:
  11. Navigate and change the top right to 5Ghz

  12. Please then select the Channel drop-down list (which should be set to Auto) and select a channel that is unoccupied in your area.
  13. Click Save
