Open fibre is currently experiencing the following issue:

Impact: Customers may experience no connectivity.

Open fibre technicians are currently investigating. There is no ETR at the moment.

Open fibre confirmed that this outage was resolved on 09/12/2025 @ 01:27. Please restart your devices and contact our Support Team should you still experience connection issues.

Please note that the current ETR provided is 12 October 2025 at 01:00 AM. 

The teams remain onsite and are currently engaged in splicing activities and restoring services. The overall ETR remains 12 October 2025 at 01:00 AM.

Once the Floating Openfibre team has completed their work, the splicing can commence. The current ETR for the splicing is 10 hours. However, progressive updates will be provided as the team works to complete the repairs.

Kindly note that the Open Fibre floating team is currently on site, identifying ducts to float and pull slack from the manhole.

An ETR for the floating has been requested. Once the floating team has completed their work, the team can start splicing

The upstream provider is currently experiencing a significant fibre break in Cape Town due to third-party construction activity.

The Regional Field Teams are on-site, conducting a full assessment. Supporting photos have been requested, along with an estimated

 time of restoration, and they will share these as soon as they are available.

Kindly note that the Open Fibre technicians are currently on site, further investigating the fault

Kindly note that investigations are currently ongoing, and this has been further escalated to the ANO for an ETA to be shared.
