Octotel is currently experiencing the following issue:  

 

Start Date & Time: 29/01/2026 @13:01

Affected Area/s: Strand   

Impact: Customers may experience no/intermittent connectivity. 

 

Octotel technicians are currently investigating. There is no ETR at the moment. 

 

Update (29/01/2026 @ 16:33):

Octotel confirmed that this outage was resolved on 29/01/2026 @ 16:33. Please restart your devices and contact our Support Team at 010 593 2665 or support@coolideas.co.za should you still experience connection issues.

 

Update (29/01/2026 @15:40):

Octotel are observing that the primary path has been restored. Their engineers will continue to monitor the link closely to ensure ongoing stability.

 

Update (29/01/2026 @14:45):

Octotel Technicians have identified a fibre break on the primary path. Technicians are currently preparing to float new cable to complete permanent repairs.

There is no ETR at the moment.
