Vumatel is currently experiencing the following issue:

Affected Area/s: Soshanguve Zone 1 

Impact: Customers may experience no connectivity. 

 

Vumatel technicians are currently investigating. There is no ETR at the moment.

Vumatel confirmed that this outage was resolved on 26/01/2026 @11:14. Please restart your devices and contact our Support Team should you still experience connection issues.

Vendor technicians have restored services 

 

Update (27/01/2026 @ 09:48): 

 Technicians are on site localising the fault.

 

Update (27/01/2026 @ 09:10): 

 Please note CP Libs will be on site at 09h30, technicians need backends from site B.  

 

Update (27/01/2026 @ 08:16): 

 Please note cable break ref 11219676 in Shoshanguve was caused by vandalism, with the control joint removed. This will result in a delayed ETR teams are required to identify and trace the backends per link.  

 

Update (27/01/2026 @ 05:03): 

Vumatel technicians confirmed time for testing as per vendor is 07:00am this morning.

 

Update (27/01/2026 @ 04:15):  

 Please take note team onsite are having a challenge on this break as it is control joint been stolen and it had alot of jumps,regarding the 2 aforementioned Routes. Teams asking for deferral as they going to need backends from clients/ customers.  

 

Update (27/01/2026 @ 03:10):  

 DFA technicians have confimred that the outage has been impacted by the major cable break, ETR to be confirmed.  

 

Update (27/01/2026 @ 00:13):  

 There is a delay due to the current cable break ,Vendor is still sourcing for a team to attend the fault.  

 

Update (26/01/2026 @ 23:23):  

 Awaiting vendor ETA confirmation, updates to follow.
