Vumatel is currently experiencing the following issue:

Impact: Customers may experience no connectivity.

Vumatel technicians are currently investigating. There is no ETR at the moment.

Splicing in progress, techs are left with 48 splices to complete in the panel, when they are done splicing, they will remove the patch leads from the old panel and patch to the new one

 

Update (16/04/2025 @ 15:21):

Splicing is in progress- 72 Fibres spliced on the panel. 
50% ps splicing done on the panel , then splicing is completed in the joint  

 

Update (16/04/2025 @13:26):

Splicing is in progress -105 fibers of the 144 fibers spliced in the joint on the pole and 52 fibers of the 144 fibers are spliced in the panel at the PoP.  

 

Update (16/04/2025 @12:30):

Technicians have spliced 4 of the 8 tubes in the joint on the pole. The cable reached the PoP and technicians are busy preparing the fibers in the panel.

 

Update (16/04/2025 @10:58):

 Weather conditions have improved. Repairs have commenced again - The joint has been prepared, and the splicing has started, Technicians are now pushing the cable in to the POP.  

 

Update (16/04/2025 @ 10:34):

 Repairs on hold due to adverse weather conditions. An update will be provided once repairs commence again

 Technicians are still working on stringing the cable 

 

Update (16/04/2025 @ 08:25):

 Technicians are onsite and the stringing of the 144f ADSS cable has commenced.

 

Update (16/04/2025 @ 07:35):

 Technicians are on route to site.  


Update (15/04/2025 @ 21:11):

 Repairs on hold due to safety reasons.
