Octotel Engineers are making steady progress in restoring the remaining 10% of clients that are still offline.
Client restoration has been slow this morning due to the preparation work which was required.
We are expecting the process to accelerate from this point onwards, but final ETR is still not available.

Octotel Engineers are still working to restore connectivity to the rest of the customers still offline in the Harfield and Kenilworth area. The teams are making progress and clients are restoring systemically.
Due to the extensive trenching in the Southern Suburb areas we have located additional cable damage which our on site teams are investigating and will provide further feedback once the cable has been inspected.

Octotel engineers are still busy with repairing the damaged infrastructure. Their teams are currently working in the Kenilworth and Claremont areas to restore those still offline.
Those affected clients will start restoring as our teams resplice the remaining fibre cables however we are unable at this point to provide a final resolution time.

Octotel Engineers has located additional infrastructure damage while testing and tracing out the cable in order to restore connectivity to those still offline.
Due to the extent of the damage we are required to replace all cabling which will result in the following areas experiencing no connection:
Wynberg
Harfield Village
Kenilworth
Plumstead
Claremont
Octotel has scheduled emergency maintenance to refloat, resplice and reconnect all clients that were and currently affected by the fibre break to ensure the connection is stable after the repair work has been carried out.
