Open Fibre is currently experiencing the following issue:

Affected Area: Newcastle Mall

Impact: Customers may experience no connectivity. 

 

Open Fibre technicians are currently investigating. There is no ETR at the moment. 

 

Update (08/10/2025 @ 19:13):

Open fibre confirmed that this outage was resolved on 08/10/2025 @ 19:13. Please restart your devices and contact our Support Team at 010 593 2665 or support@coolideas.co.za should you still experience connection issues.

 

Update (08/10/2025 @ 06:08): 

Kindly note that technicians were unable to proceed with repairs due to safety concerns. 
The team has confirmed that they will proceed with further repairs this morning, and we are currently awaiting an ETA. 

 

Update (07/10/2025 @ 22:23):  

Please note that the technician tested the fibre and got a fibre break at 11.9km on both legs. The team is going to localise.
