Vumatel is currently experiencing the following issue:

Affected Area/s: Meadowlands Phase 2
Impact: Customers may experience intermittent connectivity.

Vumatel technicians are currently investigating. There is no ETR at the moment.

Update (14/04/2026 @ 09:54): 
Vumatel has stated that additional investigations are being done on individual links for further data gathering before a decision is made.

Update (09/04/2026 @ 07:55): 
Vumatel Management is still reviewing the information provided by the vendor. The proposed solution needs additional investigation and consideration before a plan of action is to be determined. Feedback will be provided as soon as possible.


Update (01/04/2026 @ 15:30): 
Vumatel has advised that the proposed solution has been submitted to management and will be reviewed. Further updates will be provided once the review has been completed.

Update (31/03/2026 @ 09:02): 
Vumatel has advise that additional reviews are being done with management and updates will be provided by tomorrow

Update (26/03/2026 @ 08:23): 
Vumatel has advise that they will monitor and  will continue for the rest of the week, the next update will be provided on 30 March.

Update (20/03/2026 @ 15:55): 
Vumatel has advise that Stability monitoring will continue until 25 March.

Update (17/03/2026 @ 11:02): 
Vumatel has advise that the changes made has shown improvement. They will continue to monitor for an additional 24 hours to monitor the Gauteng changes implemented.

Update (17/03/2026 @ 16:06): 
The Vumatel vendor will be implementing a change tonight and the sessions will be monitored. Further feedback will be provided tomorrow.

Update (16/03/2026 @ 07:50): 
Vumatel Together with the vendor and engineering team, has put in measures place for monitoring regarding the intermittent connections. Once the testing is completed further feedback will be provided.

Update (11/03/2026 @ 10:13): 
The Vumatel vendor investigation is running for 24 hours after which the results will be reviewed and updates to be provided.


Update (10/03/2026 @ 09:14): 
Vumatel has advised that Backhaul investigations are ongoing, with the vendor investigating discarded packets on OLT and ONT level. Customer utilization is being investigated to clear all factors that may have an impact. Further feedback will be provided as soon as possible.


Update (06/03/2026 @ 13:59): 
Vumatel has advised that the Additional lab testing has proved inconclusive for a permanent resolution. The engineering team is in further discussion with the vendor working on a resolution.


Update (05/03/2026 @ 11:12): 
Vumatel has advised that the temporary fix implementation has shown good results. Monitoring is ongoing. An additional session will be held with the vendor as soon as all parties are available to discuss the implementation of permanent solution.

Vumatel has noted that an additional fix has been applied. The incident is still being monitored, and further updates will be shared.

The Vumatel engineering team is actively coordinating with the vendor regarding further adjustments. Updates will be shared once available

Vumatel has advise that Repairs deferred to tomorrow

Vumatel advises that the change was successfully completed last night, and everything looks stable so far. They  will continue monitoring until tomorrow morning to ensure there are no issues

Vumatel has that the vendor will implement a fix tonight on three sites in the Western Cape. They will measure the success of the fix and continue monitoring thereafter. Further feedback on the plan will be provided tomorrow.

Update (02/03/2026 @ 14:45): 
Vumatel technicians have confirmed that connections are now stable and are currently working on fallout cases. The next update will be provided at 6:00 PM.

Vumatel is currently following up with the vendor regarding the intermittent connection issue. Further updates will be shared once available.

Vumatel has advised that the incident is currently on hold pending further vendor investigations on firmware and hardware. Further updates will be provided on Monday, 2nd March

Vumatel advises that the investigation is still ongoing with the Active engineers. Further updates will be provided

Vumatel advises that they are currently awaiting feedback from Operations and vendor. Connections have been restored, and the incident remains under monitoring to ensure stability
