Vumatel is currently experiencing the following issue:  

 

Start Date & Time:11/05/2026  @ 12:36 

Affected Areas: KwaMashu Zone 06, KwaMashu Zone 05, KwaMashu Zone 07

Impact: Customers may experience no connectivity. 

 

Vumatel technicians are currently investigating. There is no ETR at the moment. 

 

Vumatel confirmed that this outage was resolved on 15/05/2026 @ 08:42. Please restart your devices and contact our Support Team at 010 593 2665 or support@coolideas.co.za should you still experience connection issues.

 The incident has been placed on hold. The Vumatel team will continue in the morning with repairs.

The provisioning is is progressing well. Next update will be provided at 16:00

 Bulk provisioning is underway. Next updated will be provided at 12:00.

 NWI will be placed on hold, and the APS Vumatel team will assist with bulk provisioning in the morning.

Electricians are currently on site localising the extent of the damage. Further updates will be provided at 15:00

 According to the municipality, the power cable is still live. Vumatel technicians are therefore unable to proceed until the municipality has completed their inspection. Further updates will be provided by 12:00 PM.

 The Municipality is not yet on site to inspect the electrical wires. Vuma technicians will provide an update as soon as the Municipality arrives.

Repairs are on hold due to safety reasons. Municipality needs to check electricity wires before technicians can continue with repairs.

The Vumatel technicians identified a cable break caused by municipal work in the area, where water pipes are currently being replaced.
