Vumatel is currently experiencing the following issue:

Impact: Customers may experience no connectivity. 

 

Vumatel technicians are currently investigating. There is no ETR at the moment.

Splicing in progress splicing started on joint 2 and busy prepping last joint

Vumatel techs are prepping the first joint te splice teams are also getting more slack to repair the remaining 3X288f cables

Civil team has arrived and work has commenced

Technicians are on site localising the fault

Technicians have found the break consists of more broken 288f cables so its 2x 288f for now team still checking routes for more issues

 

Update (24/10/2025 @ 13:38):  

Technicians have found the break to be multiple cables chopped off by a MTN contractor. Teams are checking what stock is needed to preform a fix to restore services
