Openfibre is currently experiencing the following issue:  

 

Start Date & Time: 10/03/2026 @ 10:43

Affected Area/s: Emoyeni Mall 

Impact: Customers may experience no connectivity. 

 

Openfibre technicians are currently investigating. There is no ETR at the moment. 

 

Update (12/03/2026 @ 00:38):  

Openfibre  confirmed that this outage was resolved on 12/03/2026 @ 00:38. Please restart your devices and contact our Support Team should you still experience connection issues. 

 

Update (11/03/2026 @ 20:34):

Openfibre Technicians onsite require additional support for fault localisation. A second team is being dispatched to the site to assist; however, an ETA is not yet available. Once an ETA has been confirmed, we will inform you. 

 

Update (11/03/2026 @ 15:38):

The Openfibre  team is busy tracing the cable from pop to the site testing via each manhole. 

 

Update (11/03/2026 @ 13:00):

Openfibre technicians have discovered a suspected break and are busy identifying cables.

Kindly note that technicians are enroute to the site and further feedback will be shared.

 Kindly note that due to safety concern the team is only able to attend this morning.

Kindly note the upstream providers technicians are still engaged with this fault and currently been escalated to senior teams, once further updates are shared we will advise.

Kindly note the upstream provider advised they are currently working on the break and advised their NMG is down and no re-route possible , further investigations are ongoing.

Open fibre Technicians are still investigating the fault, further updates to follow . More updates to follow.
