Openfibre is currently experiencing the following issue:

Affected Area/s: Emoyeni Mall

Impact: Customers may experience no connectivity.

 

Openfibre technicians are currently investigating. There is no ETR at the moment.

Openfibre confirmed that this outage was resolved on 03/01/2026 14:15. Please restart your devices and contact our Support Team should you still experience connection issues.

eedback from our engineering teams regarding the cause of the fault. Our upstream provider's infrastructure that connects Emoyeni Mall to our backhaul may be faulty and will need to be replaced.

This has been logged as a priority and an ETR of 00:00 10/01/2026 has been provided. We will continue to follow up with our upstream provider to ensure that the issue is resolved swiftly.

 

 

Update (09/01/2026 @ 16:53):

Engineers are still on-site running tests to confirm the cause of the fault. The link will continue to go down and come back up during this time.

 

We are pushing for an ETR and will provide an update on this as soon as it's available.

Our on-site teams are bringing critical equipment offline to then reboot with their applied configuration changes. As this is an investigative step, an ETR has not been provided.Once the engineers are confident that they have localised the root cause, they will be able to inform us when operations will return to normal More updates to follow.

 

Update (09/01/2026 @ 15:21):

Open fibre engineers are currently working on implementing configuration changes in order to restore client service's. No ETR is currently available and further feedback will be shared.  More updates to follow.

Kindly note that this has been assigned to Open Fibre field operations team. They are awaiting further feedback in regard to this matter and will be sure to provide further feedback
