Update Fri 30/07/2021 17:44: Octotel has confirmed that technicians have restored the backhaul link servicing Melkbos Strand and Blouberg.
Engineers on site are still splicing up the fibre infrastructure which may cause certain customers in the area to experience intermittent drops
until the work is completed.
Eta is still on track to be fully restored by 7pm.

customers in Melkbos Strand will start restoring. Eta for complete restoration of all services is estimated to be online by 7pm.

The new fibre cables have been floated and our Metro provider engineers are preparing to splice up the infrastructure. No Eta has been provided as yet.

The fibre line provider has completed dropping a new manhole to accommodate the new fibre cables being floated. Once the new fibre cables are installed the standby team will resplice up the infrastructure in order to restore connectivity. No Eta has been provided as yet.

They are currently on site busy with repairs.
