Vumatel is currently experiencing the following issue:

Affected Area/s: Blue Downs Zone 9, Cape Town

Impact: Customers may experience no connectivity.

 

Vumatel technicians are currently investigating. There is no ETR at the moment.

 

Vumatel confirmed that this outage was resolved on 19/11/2025 @ 16:41. Please restart your devices and contact our Support Team at 010 593 2665 or support@coolideas.co.za should you still experience connection issues.

Bulk reprovisioning is still currently in progress for the entire Blue Downs Zone 9. The operation is still ongoing. Further updates will be provided at 04:00 AM

Please note all fibre work is done for the NWI and joint has been successfully cut-over.
There is bulk reprovisioning running for the entire BDZ9.
They will be doing the reprovisioning in batches of 3 as there is 1563 client active here.

The manhole was vandalized by an unknown party. Due to extensive damage to the cable, Vumatel technicians will be reinstalling the cable and joint. 

They are currently preparing the joints for splicing.
