Openfibre is currently experiencing the following issue:

Impact: Customers may experience no connectivity.

 

OpenFibre technicians are currently investigating. There is no ETR at the moment.

Open Fibre confirmed that this outage was resolved on 05/03/2026 @13:43. Please restart your devices and contact our Support Team at 010 593 2665 or support@coolideas.co.za should you still experience connection issues.

Please be informed that the maintenance teams are currently on-site and have identified a disconnection of 2.056 km along the link. The Openfibre teams are in the process of localizing the issue. No estimated time of restoration has been provided yet. We will continue to provide progressive updates as more information becomes available.

The Openfibre vendor has been notified and will be attending to investigate the issue further. Access to the site was not granted last night due to safety concerns, and the investigation will proceed once access is available. We will share the estimated time of restoration (ETR) as soon as it is received from our vendor.

 

Update: 05/03/2026 01:46

Due to access restrictions at the site, Openfibre technicians were unable to complete their full testing. They will need to return to the site during business hours to investigate and resolve.
